So this past weekend we decided to put our all inclusive ski pass to use in more ways then just hitting the slopes. Bode loves anything that goes vroom-vroom, beep-beep, honk-honk, or choo-choo, so we thought it would be fun to go on a little family trip using only trains, trams, gondolas, and buses.
We started our journey here in G'wald where we jumped on the train for a 20 min ride to Zweilitschen. There we changed trains and headed to Lauterbrunnen. In Lauterbrunnen we stopped at the bike shop and look into ordering Bode a "Like-a-bike". (They are these darling bikes made out of wood that are designed to help children learn how to ride a bike without the use of training wheels. check 'em out. They are awesome! www.likeabike.com
From Lauterbrunnen, we took another train up to Wengen. Wengen is a town that is only accessible by train and is a "walking only" village. Plus the host of the World Cup ski race which we love to attend yearly with our good friends Nyman's; we miss you guys!
Once in Wengen, we got on the Tram and went up to Männlichen to see Grosi (Mandel's mom). She works in the Restaurant at the ski lodge and spoiled us with a delicious lunch. Thanks Vreni!
After lunch, we checked out the helicopters & groomers, then got on the Gondola and headed back down to Grindelwald. Our excursion ended with a bus ride back to the village center and then home with Daddy's Jeep.

Not only does Europe have a great public transportation system...it is also a very effecient one...so the entire trip only took 4 hr. Left at 10 and back at 2 just in time for an afternoon nap. Just the way we like it. :) luv you carm.
What a fun trip! Jonah noticed the train when I pulled up your blog and had to sit on my lap while he looked and the pictures and I explained what you did. We were all jealous. :) Someday we will make it out to see you guys and will have to get our fill of trains, trams and gondolas. Also, the "Like-a-bike" looks so awesome! Kenzie, how much do they cost in US $? Do you know if they ship? NOTHING beats European made toys/gear!

Not only is he going to be a secret agent that speaks high german, low german, swiss german, french italian, and English, but he'll be a world class skier too! Send him over to me and we can add pro surfer/ladies man to his profile.. But I'm sure Mandel can take care of the ladies part... Man I miss you guys! I want to come visit SOOOOOO bad!
